ARCHIPELAGO RUSH:
Pop-Culture, Philippines, Poetry
Pop-culture is inherently vibrant, messy, entertaining, enlightening, frustrating, convincingly schizophrenic, and fat with ironic twists and turns. Pop-culture is one of daily-life's vibrant suns, blistering your appetites with glamour, sensualities, or scandals and controversies, often propelled by cult of personality.
This blog observes aspects of pop-culture in the Philippines, and celebrates it, both implicitly and explicitly. Most likely, observations will have the length of short captions. Words under an image may not have direct correlation to that image; thus, images from Philippine pop-culture, in this blog, can function as stimulants for words about other images, things, ideas. Original sources of these images will be credited through that image's direct web-link or URL.
Written in California, this blog thinks about pop-culture in the Philippines, through the Internet, and possibly other digital-media technologies. Many of us party on-line, these days, from dusk 'til dawn...til dusk. This blog is probably one of those, too. I hope to find the music in the images, especially the intrigues in them, so that prepositions and conjunctions do not have to dance in the background.
